Communication Network Guide
This guide is tailored for international students in CAUC to navigate essential communication services in China, including SIM card application, campus network access, and must-have mobile apps. Follow the step-by-step instructions to enjoy convenient digital life during your study journey
SIM Card Application
There are three eligibilities for you to prepare before you get a SIM card:
- Valid passport (remaining validity ≥ 6 months)
- Valid Chinese visa or residence permit
- Address proof (hotel booking, rental contract, or temporary accommodation registration form, required by some operators)
Application Process
Offline
if you want to get you SIM offline,Nanyuan No. 3 Canteen is your best choice. There are service outlets of major telecom operators on the first floor of Nanyuan No. 3 Canteen,what you need to do is visit an official store of your chosen operator (bring all required documents),and find a staff help you finish the process.
Online
if you want to get a SIM card online there are three steps you must follow:
- Upload passport/visa scans via the operator’s official app.
- Finish video verification for real-name registration.
- Receive the SIM card by delivery (confirm region restrictions in advance).
Campus Network Usage
if you don’t want to use SIM card, you can choose our campus network. Every students in CAUC campus will have a network account, we can use it to connect in campus network(often named ‘CAUC-WIFI’) everyone will have 20G free every month.

Learning: Zhidao (online courses), Super Star Learning (check-in/assignments), U Campus (English learning)

Communication: Tencent Meeting (online classes), Dingtalk (university notifications)
Language: HelloTalk (language exchange with native speakers), Xinhua Dictionary (Chinese character lookup)
